Learn the warning signs that may be symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Understand the importance of visiting your doctor early to rule out treatable conditions that may be the cause of these symptoms. Early diagnosis helps with planning, treatment, the opportunity to participate in clinical trials, and access to support from the Alzheimer’s Association.

This short class (1.5 to 2 hours long) offers an overview for those who have concerns about memory loss or have had a diagnosis of dementia. Learn about the Alzheimer’s disease process, as well as the programs offered by the Greater Dallas Chapter for both the person with Alzheimer’s and the caregiver.

Activities Based Alzheimer’s Care (ABAC)

This 7-hour class teaches professionals how to determine their client's level of dementia, design activities to meet needs, and use the environment and the client's own preferences to achieve success. Recommended for Activity Directors and Social Workers in long term care facilities.

Professional Caregiver Class

Participants receive a certificate of completion.
