Monticello West Presents...

Sep 10 - How Old Do You Have To Be, To Be Successful?

At 97 years old, Herman Wouk just published his book on Moses, "The Lawgiver."  And speaking of Moses, Grandma Moses was only 80 when she started painting!
Presenter: Rose-Mary Rumbley, author, teacher, lecturer

Oct 8 - Louis L'Amour Cowboy for All Seasons
L'Amour, cowboys and the American West go hand-in-hand. But L'Amour was also a brilliant, fascinating, multifaceted writer, and an omnivorous reader whose personal story was always more compelling than his novels. You will be delighted and astonished to learn more about him and you may discover a "new" favorite author.
Presenter: Gayle Ross, world adventurer and travel writer

Nov 12 - Discovering Emotions in Music
We've all heard that "major means happy and minor means sad" but is this really true? The emotions captured in great music are so much more vast and subtle than this simple statement conveys. Dallas Symphony Education Director Jamie Allen and his wife, pianist Toni Austin-Allen will perform music from different eras and explore how different composers use different techniques to tap into our many wonderful emotions.
Presenter: Jamie Allen, Director of Education, Dallas Symphony Orchestra
